Conservation status: Critically Endangered

Livingstone's fruit bats are the third largest bat in the world with a 1.2m wingspan. They are at risk of imminent extinction due to deforestation on the remote Comoros Islands where they originate from and the risk of strong tropical storms due to global warming.
